This was Jesus's response when Simon Peter told him the crowd was waiting for him to come heal them. He left. He did not respond to every demand because he knew his purpose was a greater priority.
So setting boundaries is 'Christ-like'.
“What you are doing is not good...You cannot do it alone." (Exodus 18:17–18)
When Moses tried to carry everyone’s problems, exhaustion followed, and this was Jethro's advice to him, which he heeded. The wise boundaries he later set allowed the work of God to continue without destroying himself.
